  • Currency

    The naira moves under the invoice

    An import priced in dollars is paid in naira. Duty and VAT are charged on the converted value, so a weaker rate compounds before the goods leave the port.

  • Fuel

    Diesel is not one national price

    The same litre costs a different amount in each state, and a long-haul truck fills up in several of them. A single average hides where the money goes.

  • Freight

    Quotes that do not hold

    Ocean freight, port charges and inland haulage are quoted, re-quoted and surcharged. A landed cost is only useful if it can be re-run the moment one of them changes.
